Your Role
In this role, you will be the link between technology, operations, and our customers – developing material flows, implementing digital tools, and continuously improving quality performance. Your work will directly shape how Myne delivers aluminium and copper that meet the highest standards, at the lowest cost, and with the lowest CO₂ footprint.
As Business Development Engineer, you will combine analytical engineering skills with business development responsibilities to grow Myne’s aluminium and copper business. You design and implement solutions that improve quality, increase yield, and create insight through data and software. You will work closely with operations, R&D, and commercial teams to make sure our production processes are robust, scalable, and customer-oriented.
Key Responsibilities
🔧 Process & Technology Development
Design and optimize material flow processes (inbound, production, outbound) to improve yield, efficiency, and traceability.
Work with the Xorter and MDX development teams to translate quality feedback into machine improvements.
Lead small engineering projects to test new technologies (e.g. sensors, grading tools, automation solutions).
📊 Data & Digitalization
Develop and implement digital tools (e.g. grading app, dashboards) for real-time quality and process monitoring.
Use data analytics to identify process bottlenecks, cost drivers, and opportunities for improvement.
Define KPIs (EUR/MT, claim ratio, recovery rate) and visualize performance to create a shared view for the team and customers.
🤝 Business Development & Customer Interface
Act as the technical point of contact for customers regarding material specifications and quality requirements.
Build partnerships with suppliers and customers to co-develop quality standards and close material loops.
Translate commercial opportunities into operational improvements that unlock growth and profitability.
👥 Team Enablement & Training
Support and coach the quality and lab team, ensuring consistent execution of inspection protocols.
Train colleagues in the use of new digital tools, quality procedures, and data-driven decision making.
About you
Engineering or Technical Background: Bachelor’s/Master’s in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, Materials Science, or a related field.
Operational & Analytical Mindset: 2–5 years’ experience in operations, process engineering, or supply chain development (preferably in industrial, recycling, or manufacturing environments).
Affinity with Digital Tools: Comfortable working with data, dashboards, and process software. Some experience with ERP/MES systems or basic coding/automation is a plus.
Hands-On Approach: Willing to spend time on the shop floor to understand processes first-hand and drive practical improvements.
Customer & Solution Focused: Strong communicator who can translate complex technical data into actionable insights for commercial and operational teams.
Entrepreneurial Drive: Proactive, curious, and willing to take ownership to make things happen in a scale-up environment.
Languages: Fluent in English; Dutch or German is a plus.
