About Myne

Myne Circular Metals is a leading technology company in the recycling industry, dedicated to solving the global problem of metal depletion and the environmental impacts of metal production. By leveraging creativity, perseverance, and cutting-edge technology, we are shaping the future of mining where today's goods become tomorrow's circular metals. With a team of 75 smart and driven employees in Harderwijk, the Netherlands, we generate a turnover of approximately 400 million euros annually. And as we continue to expand globally, our mission is to permanently change how metals are sourced at scale.

One of our key technologies is the Xorter, which converts metal waste into high-quality raw materials comparable to virgin metals, but at a lower cost. This breakthrough solution offers a true alternative to traditional recycling by avoiding downcycling and achieving circular metals. We collaborate closely with research institutions such as Delft University of Technology to enhance our capabilities. By leveraging advanced AI and robotics, we ensure high-quality metal recycling, delivering circular metals on demand, on recipe, and at the lowest cost.

Role Description

As the Team Lead for Robotics & Automation at Myne, you will drive and own the development and integration of robotic systems that push the boundaries of what’s possible in high-performance automated sorting. You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers working at the intersection of robotics, automation, and AI. You’ll coordinate technical direction, prioritizing work, and ensuring value delivery across the team.

This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise with strong organizational and communication skills. You’ll co-own the roadmap, shape vision, break down complex problems into actionable work, and help the team stay aligned, efficient, and inspired. We value technical leaders who build trust, stay curious, and roll up their sleeves when needed. This means staying hands-on, stepping into (code) reviews, architecture sessions, and debugging challenges as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead & Inspire: Provide daily technical and strategic guidance for a team of engineers (software, computer vision, AI, mechatronics), fostering collaboration and continuous learning.

  • Lead Technical Execution: Drive system-level design choices across all disciplines ensuring scalability and robustness.

  • Plan & Prioritize: Translate organizational goals into roadmaps, KPIs, milestones, and deliverables. Balance long-term research with short-term technical delivery by prioritizing and maintaining the team’s backlog.

  • Own Delivery: Be accountable for the execution, quality, and reliability of the systems your team develops, from prototype to deployment.

  • Coordinate & Align: Distribute work across team members, support cross-functional coordination, and ensure clarity on scope, requirements and timelines.

  • Collaborate Across Functions: Act as a bridge between research, engineering, operations and external partners to align on requirements, expectations, and timelines.

  • Drive Innovation: Stay ahead of trends in robotics, automation, and control systems, evaluating new technologies and driving exploratory efforts.

  • Stay Hands-On: Engage directly in architectural decisions, prototyping, testing and debugging to support the team when needed.

What You Bring

  • Strong Technical Foundation: Proven problem-solving experience with a system-level mindset in an R&D environment.

  • Leadership: Ability to lead technical teams within rapidly changing development environments. Strong project ownership and team coordination skills.

  • Analytical skills: Strong analytical and reasoning abilities with the capacity to visualize complex processes and outcomes.

  • Organized & Pragmatic: Experience in balancing technical idealism with real-world constraints. Motivated to turn strategy into actionable tasks in a structured and organized manner.

  • Great Communicator: Comfortable in translating between engineering and business, keeping stakeholders informed and ensuring alignment within the team.

  • Collaborative & Curious: A team-first mentality and a natural curiosity for interdisciplinary challenges across multiple disciplines.
