Project Engineer (Mechanical/Industrial)
About Myne
Myne Circular Metals develops technologies that address one of the resource industry's most pressing challenges: the depletion of high-quality metals and the environmental cost of producing them. Our core technologies, the Xorter and MDX, convert chaotic metal waste streams into raw materials that match virgin metals in quality, at lower cost and without downcycling. We do this with ~75 people in Harderwijk, €400M in annual turnover, and close partnerships with universities and specialists. We are scaling fast, with ambitious technical developments still underway.
Role Description
At Myne, engineers are close to the work — and this role is no exception. As a Project Engineer, you focus on developing and delivering the systems and components that make our technology work, from concept to working result. The subject matter varies: one project might involve a mechanical sorting system, the next a fluid handling setup. What stays constant is your approach: define the requirements, design or source the solution, and make sure it works. You will spend time in the office and in our production facilities, working alongside operators and technicians in a real industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Own: Work independently and prioritize tasks based on project roadmaps
Design: Conceptualize and develop components and systems in CAD, whatever the application
Make: Prototype, assemble, test, and refine from first sketch to finished and integrated result
Collaborate: Coordinate with team members, suppliers, and external partners
Deliver: Manage projects from concept to deployment, on time and fully integrated into operations
What You Bring
Experience: You have experience with designing and delivering technical solutions from concept to working result. Either from a formal degree or hands-on experience, what matters is that you can apply it in practice.
(Plant) design proficiency: Comfortable in CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.). You might use it daily or pick it up when a design needs working out. Experience with P&IDs and PFDs is considered a plus.
Technical curiosity: You pick up new domains quickly and are not put off by projects outside your immediate expertise.
Hands-on: Just as comfortable in the workshop, on a phone call or behind a desk. This role requires all.
Self-directed: You manage your own workload based on a roadmap, set priorities, and follow through without needing constant direction.
On-site: Based in Harderwijk, working daily in an industrial pilot environment where things are still being figured out, and that's exactly what makes it interesting.
Education: HBO/WO in Mechanical or Industrial Design Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Communication: Professional written and verbal communication skills in English, Dutch is a plus.
